Tony Thurman, President

Tony Thurman started SHIELD Security Systems of Kansas City to use today’s powerful technology to enhance our safety and improve our quality of life.

Tony grew up in Nebraska where he married his wife, Julie. They both graduated from the University of Nebraska. Tony was hired by AT&T as a computer designer after receiving his Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from Purdue University.

The Thurman family has lived in Overland Park for over 15 years. Their three children all attended Lakewood Middle School; one currently attends high school at Blue Valley West, while the other two have graduated from the University of Nebraska and the University of Minnesota. The family’s most memorable adventure was the year that they lived in Australia. It was an experience that they will never forget!

Chad Taylor, Sales Manager

Chad brings over eight years of experience in the security industry to SHIELD. His philosophy of customer service shows during each appointment. He takes his time to educate the customer so they can choose a security plan that fits their needs and their budget. Chad is knowledgeable in both residential and commercial properties. Chad has three girls and is active in his community and the Kansas City metro area.

Marcus Thurman, Operations Director

Marcus brings his knowledge of finance, accounting and business management to SHIELD. He is a recent graduate of the University of Nebraska but grew up in Overland Park, Kansas where he attended Blue Valley West High School and played on their State Championship football team. Marcus uses his business management experience to ensure we deliver what we committed, when we committed it. He also manages our customer service to make sure our clients’ systems are working properly and that SHIELD is easy to do business with. Marcus’ interests include weight lifting, basketball and riding motorcycles.

Jeremy Devries, Technician

Jeremy brings a wealth of low voltage experience to the SHIELD team. Jeremy has extensive experience in security system installation, home theater design and video surveillance. He takes great pride in his work and strives to exceed the expectations of each and every SHIELD client. Jeremy is a Kansas City native who enjoys electronics and spending time with friends.
