Qualifications:

 
  • Must be self-motivated and confident.
  • Must posess a high energy level and excellent communication skills.
  • Must present a professional image (clean and neat) and a sense of humor.
  • Must take and pass a pre-employment test regarding alarm installation and programming
  • Must demonstrate the ability to make decisions and follow instructions
  • Must have common sense and good judgment
  • Must have some background experience in:
    - Basic construction
    - Basic electrical technology
    - Installation of residential burglar & fire alarm systems
    - The proper use of specialized alarm installation tools.
    - Reading and understanding simple “field” diagrams of a building & detection equipment
    - Creating simple “field” diagrams of a building
    - Programming a digital communicator and control panel
    - Operation and design of burglar and fire alarm systems
Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Responsible for the complete and proper installation of company products. Will also participate in recommending products and product line revisions as well as pricing changes
  • Communicating with customers before, during and after an installation or service call
  • Maintaining company owned vehicles, equipment and alarm hardware
  • Prepare weekly report of hours worked, jobs completed and started and service calls completed and started to be submitted to clerk for preparation for the “5:15 Report”
  • Will recommend changes to current policies which may benefit the company.
  • May participate in the recruitment, selection and training of installers & technicians and other personnel within the company when applicable or at the request of the Manager or Administrative Assistant
  • Responsible for any and all damage done to a premise or property during the installation of company products. Responsible for the routine maintenance of company vehicles and equipment such as vehicles, ladders etc. Oil changes and routing maintenance of company vehicles is the responsibility of the installer.
  • May be required to submit to random drug testing, refusal will be grounds for immediate termination. Failure of such a test may result in termination or in the mandatory, immediate treatment at an accredited facility at the technician’s expense.
  • Must pass a written pre-employment test
